Sealer Stripping

Remove unwanted, improperly applied, or old sealant

and have a fresh start with sealer stripping

Sealer Stripping is your safe-guard against a failed sealer job. Applying sealers is no easy task. There are multiple conditions that must be met in order to successfully apply a sealer. Cure time, weather, temperature, humidity, amount of sealer, type of sealer, type of surface, and proper cleaning all play a part. If one of these factors is not properly adhered to, the sealer will be unsuccessful. It can either fade, become “milky” or bubbly, will not bond properly to the concrete, and can even cause premature cracking.

Bubbles or Spots

A sealer that has bubbles or spots throughout the layer was improperly applied and must be removed.

Stained or "Milky" Look

If the sealer colour has discoloured or gained a "milky" look in areas, it was unable to cure properly.

Premature Cracking

If the sealer cracks prematurely, it is likely that too much sealer was applied, and must be removed to prevent further damage.

What can go wrong when sealing a surface?

  • Applying too much sealer or the wrong type of sealer for the surface
  • Using the wrong kind or inferior application tools
  • Not properly cleaning the surface before applying the sealer
  • Applying the sealer during poor weather conditions
  • Not allowing the sealer to cure properly

All sealers inevitably need to be reapplied. If an old sealer needs to be removed, or a fresh seal has gone wrong, sealer stripping is the best solution to start with a clean slate once more.
